Having been abandoned for a long time, the site has been renovated since 1989. The landscaping manager, Laurence Vanpoulle, was able to bring together the different perspectives offered by this breathtaking site in the Ouche Valley by following a recently-discovered ancient path. This "landscape garden" highlights various natural environments.

This is the second largest carnival in France with 250 000 spectators, including a free street show ! The carnival is also one of the most successful, immortalised in the famous film - "White Queen" - by the Nantes-born Jean-Loup Hubert. It is one of the oldest too : according to the journalist and historian John Belfond, it takes its origins from the "Saturnales" of the Gallo-Roman period.
